Enterprise-grade energy management no longer limited to new swanky buildings
Singapore 2 August 2022 - Green Koncepts, the enterprise SaaS IoT Platform and Applications company for Smart Buildings, is extending enterprise-grade energy management to older existing buildings to accelerate Singapore's sustainability ambitions. They can now access energy data and KPIs without major building systems investment to improve their energy efficiency affordably and sustainably.
Enterprise-grade energy management as an activity is mostly reserved for new buildings so far.
Dovetailing efforts to retrofit existing buildings like Building Construction Authority’s (BCA) $63 million Green Mark Incentive Scheme for Existing Buildings 2.0, Green Koncepts extends enterprise-grade energy management to existing buildings - including those who may not qualify for the scheme due to building size, technology limitations or various business reasons.
Retrofitting older existing buildings is more challenging than designing a new green building from scratch. It is more complex and potentially costly. Also, these buildings do not have building management systems (BMS) – which usually come with basic energy management functions - because they are too expensive to buy and maintain.
Launched today, Building Systems EQ is a new functionality within EnergetixTM - Green Koncepts' Energy Management System. Building Systems EQ rolls up energy KPIs like energy use intensity, efficiency, consumption trends etc. at the building systems level so building teams can track building energy KPIs without number crunching or costly data integration. This is in accordance with Building Construction Authority’s building energy management best practices.
The energy management system was on display during DBS' official opening of DBS Newton Green - the first net-zero building in Singapore by a bank. Together with integrated technologies, the retrofitted building has reduced its energy consumption by 70%.
